Important Legal Notice

Tako is an independent third-party application created by Manimau Studios Pte Ltd. We are NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected with TikTok, ByteDance Ltd., or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. TikTok is a registered trademark of ByteDance Ltd.

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide our Service. This includes:

  • Account Information: Email address (if you create an account), device identifiers, and authentication tokens
  • Usage Data: App interaction data, feature usage statistics, and crash reports
  • User Content: URLs of TikTok videos you choose to analyze, metadata extracted from public TikTok content, and AI-generated analysis results
  • Technical Data: IP address, device type, operating system version, and app version

We do NOT collect TikTok login credentials, passwords, or private account information.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information solely to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Tako Service
  • Generate AI-powered analytics and insights based on publicly available TikTok content
  • Process and store analyzed video metadata in your personal library
  • Communicate service updates, security alerts, and support messages
  • Ensure compliance with our Terms of Service and applicable laws

4. Data Processing & Public Domain Information

Critical Disclosure: Tako exclusively processes publicly available information from TikTok. We do not access, store, or process:

  • Private TikTok videos or accounts
  • Content marked as private, friends-only, or restricted
  • Personal data of TikTok users beyond what they have chosen to make public
  • Copyrighted content in violation of fair use principles

All data processed by our Service constitutes publicly available information or falls under fair use doctrine for analytical, educational, and research purposes (17 U.S.C. § 107).

Our AI analysis constitutes transformative use, adding new meaning, insight, and understanding to publicly available content without substituting for the original work.

Tako utilizes publicly available TikTok content through:

  • Public web scraping of openly shared TikTok URLs
  • User-initiated content analysis (manual URL input)
  • Open metadata extraction from public profiles and videos

We do not use TikTok's private API, nor do we circumvent any technical protection measures. All data collection complies with robots.txt directives and applicable terms of service for publicly accessible content.

Disclaimer: We are not responsible for changes to TikTok's platform, availability of public content, or any actions taken by TikTok/ByteDance that may affect Service functionality.

8. Children's Privacy

Tako is not intended for users under 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete such information.

9. International Data Transfers

Manimau Studios Pte Ltd is based in Singapore. Your data may be transferred to and processed in Singapore and other countries where our service providers operate. By using Tako, you consent to such transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through Standard Contractual Clauses and adequacy decisions.

10. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Manimau Studios Pte Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Tako.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Manimau Studios Pte Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against all losses, expenses, damages, and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, resulting from:

  • Your violation of this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Service
  • Your misuse of the Tako Service
  • Any content you submit, post, or transmit through the Service
  • Your violation of any rights of another party, including intellectual property rights
  • Any claim that your use of the Service caused damage to a third party

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notice 30 days prior to effectiveness. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
